HAPPY PLACE (2016)

"Through her imagination, a young girl tries to come to terms with the loss of her brother."

Most of this film was shot around the main part of the day. The boardwalk scene taking place at sunset to get the beautiful backlight seen above and the arcade being shot in the early hours of the morning to ensure no other people.

The main thought was to make the 'happy' scenes very vast and cinematic and the 'sad' scenes to be dull and claustrophobic. Shooting different aspect ratios and formats made this task much easier i.e. shooting 4:3 vs 2.39:1.

Camera: Blackmagic Production Camera 4K (2.40:1), Panasonic AF101 (4:3)

Lenses: Zeiss CP.2 Lenses, SLR Magic Prime Lenses
